A favoured radio station in Melbourne, Australia – 3AW - recommended Grand Millesime Fine Wines as the on-line wine retailer of the year in 2011, for one of its radio shows. Naturally Corks checked it out, and Grand Millesime have a large range of fine Burgundies, specialising in smaller, less known producers. Grand Millesime offer substantial “pre-delivery” discounts, presumably meaning they can fill up a container of pre-sold wine for shipment to Australia, reducing the risk they can’t sell the wine once it arrives.

Corks ordered a modest quantity of white Burgundy in March and is still waiting for the wine to be delivered. I’ve written to them several times over the past few months – sometime in August is the latest estimate.

To be fair, they have indicated a delay in the arrival of one of the wines I ordered, but I’ve long since stopped feeling like a valued customer. The wine is going to have to be pretty special for me to bother ordering from Grand Millesime again.
